The Subterranean Monster Gudon, sculpted and painted by Hajime Tanno, joins the KAIJU REMIX SERIES as a fully painted soft vinyl finished figure!
Gudon’s iconic ferocity as it attacks Twin Tail is expressed through its fierce facial expression, sharp horns on its head, spikes covering its entire body, and whip-like tips on its arms and tail. The uniquely calculated proportions and ferocious aura characteristic of Hajime Tanno’s sculpting style have been faithfully reproduced using ACRO’s U-Vinyl technology (burn-out mold process).Experience firsthand the powerful presence that looks ready to strike at any moment.
Comment from Hajime Tanno regarding the creation of Gudon:
I am truly honored to have something I created lined up among the products of the KAIJU REMIX SERIES that I have long admired. When I was in high school, I remember being deeply shocked when KRS was first released, as it presented a completely new way of interpreting kaiju. Nowadays, arranged kaiju designs have become something familiar, but originally it felt like a sacred domain allowed only to the original creators. This series is one of the origins of that democratization. As someone standing at the far end of that lineage, I approached this Gudon with sincerity.
From my memories at the time, the Gudon soft vinyl figure had a very upright silhouette when viewed from the side, which always caught my attention as a child. I believe that the arched lower back, the slightly weary forward-thrust neck, and the gentle S-curve form the core of what makes Gudon recognizable. In this version, I retained those elements while remixing them with my own style. I intentionally restrained excessive volume exaggeration, instead focusing on rearranging surface details and adding imagery inspired by insects that live underground, reflecting its nature as a subterranean monster. Since Gudon moves in a rather crazed manner in the show, I aimed to give it a ferocious impression, particularly through the face. If you like, please display it alongside Twin Tail.
